How to Boot Defragment For Fast Booting (Windows)

What is Boot Defragment ?

It means all the boot files are been placed next to each other on the disk drive to allow faster booting. The option is enabled default but for some of the upgrade user's its disabled.


So here is simple tutorial on how to boot defragment for fast booting.
  • Click Start.
  • Search Regedit and press Enter.
  • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOptimizeFunction.
  • Select Enable from the list on the right side.
  • Right click on it and select Modify.
  • Change the value to "Y" for enable and "N" for disable.
  • Reboot Your Computer.
